I saw Tiffany from the wonderful blog Food and Other Loves do this tag and I thought it was so fun! You all know I love to read and I thought it would be nice for you to get to know me better. So here are my answers for The Autumn Reading Tag.
Are there any books you plan on reading over the Autumn season?
As those of you who read my Autumn Bucket List will know I plan to read at least Fractured by Dani Atkins, Thanks for the memories by Cecelia Ahern and Lovely Bone by Amanda Seabold. I have a never-ending reading list though so I’m sure I will read a few more.
School memories: what subject did you most enjoy studying? and what was your least favourite subject?
Seems a bit random in a Reading Tag! Anyway, I genuinely enjoyed school apart from PE! I still am and never have been the sporty type. I adored English as I loved reading lessons and as well as creative writing (somethings never change!). I used to fill exercise books with my stories. One I remember was about two spies! I also loved Psychology which I went on to study for one half of my degree. I find trying to understand human behaviour and thoughts fascinating. I think this is why I find it so important to feel invested in the characters when I read.
October means Halloween: Do you enjoy scary books and films? If so, which are some of your favourites?
I don’t enjoy scary books or films! I’m a bit of a chicken!
With November, it’s time for Bonfire Night and fireworks. What’s the most exciting book you’ve ever read that really kept you gripped?
Oooo love this question! There are so many to chose from. But a gripping book series which I don’t feel gets enough love is Kat Zhangs three-part series called The Hybrid Chronicles, including What’s Left Of Me, Once We Were and Echos Of Us. I first read this series as a teenager but now this tag has jogged my memory of it so I want to read it again! Basically, in the book, everybody is born with two spirits inside them each with their own unique name. One is supposed to fade over time but for Eva and Addie if this doesn’t happen so they are hybrids, they have to hide this from everyone around them.
What book is your favourite cosy comfort read?
The Sky is Everywhere by Jenny Nelsen a book which I have loved since I was a teenager, I have read it multiple times and I always find it comforting.
Wilde and Wilde About the Girl by Louise Pentland. The main character Robin feels like an old friend to me, both books have made me laugh and cry.
Curled up with a good book, what is your hot drink of choice?
Either a Hot chocolate with all the works, cream, marshmallows and even chocolate sauce if I’m really pushing the boat out. Or a Cinamon flavoured latte. I am loving Costas Bonfire Latte and Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Any plans you’re looking forward to over the next month?
What are you looking forward to over the next few months?
Christmas! I love all the festivities, the sparkling lights, Christmas music, Christmas films and its the one time a year you can eat as much as you want and no one can judge you. Its even expected!
