Hello and Welcome Back! It is time for another book review. *Insert cheering here* Today I am going to share with you my thoughts on Fractured by Dani Atkins. I brought this book from Barter Books (a second hand bookshop in Northumberland) and it is truely hidden gem. I haven’t heard anyone else talk about it which is a shame because it is one of my favourite books. I can’t wait to share it with you so lets get started.
This story opens with a shocking start. The main character Rachel and her friends are in a horrific car accident during High School. Tragically her best friend, Jimmy, dies. Such a dramatic starts leaves you feeling instantly gripped.
The story then moves on to Rachel as an adult. She is now engaged to another guy from high school, Matt. Their relationship, like all relationships, has its ups and down. Rachel travels to see Matt and on her way from the train station gets mugged and suffers a blow to the head.
She wakes up in hospital with amnesia and can’t remember the past five years of her life. The story then focuses on her trying to piece her life back together. I won’t tell you anymore as I don’t want to spoil your story.
It beautifully demonstrated the value of friendship which has its unexpected twists and turns.
If you are looking for an easy, yet, fast paced read, then this is the book for you!
If you do read it, please let me know your thoughts. I would also love to hear what book you don’t think gets enough love? Let me know in the comments below.
