Day out

Day Out: Sheffield- Tropical Butterfly House Wildlife and Falconry Centre

Hello and Welcome Back! It is time for part two of my weekend in Sheffield. The first post was about the city centre and the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Be sure to check it out here.

Today I’m sharing with you what I discovered at the Tropical Butterfly House and Wildlife Falconry Centre a 40 minute drive from the city centre.

When we first arrived we were greeted by a Peacock show off its feathers. It is truely spectacular!

Later on we saw the same Peacock sitting on a fence. I didn’t know peacocks could jump that high! He does look quite majestic though.

There were also some Lemurs which you may recognise from the film Madagascar! Hehe! They sometimes sat like a human which was funny and adorable.

As expected there was a butterfly house! The butterflies were so fast that sadly, I couldn’t get a photo of them. I did however, get a picture of this beautiful parrot.

We then went to a meerkat show where we learnt all about them. They were so sweet and adorable. Even though we learnt they can be vicious and can even kill a snake! The meerkat’s also shared their home with a couple of porcupines who are sisters.

There was a little bird next to the show who wanted the attention to be on him. Look how sassy he is!

Finally, we saw a family of otters. They were so sweet as they made chirping sounds to speak to each other.

To end the our weekend away we continued to explore Sheffield City Centre. We discovered a botanical garden in the city centre. Filled with cactus’s as well as bright and bold flowers.

Finally, we explored the cathedral which was beautiful with stunningly detailed architecture.

So that was everything we did in Sheffield. I had an amazing time exploring a new city and spending time with my Best Friend. I would love to visit Sheffield again. So if you have any ideas for places to go in Sheffield let me know in the comments!
