The UK summer is continuing with the sunshine makes the surroundings look so beautiful! My boyfriend and I went on a DLR discovery tour which started at Tower Gateway and finished a Greenwich. Here are my thoughts on the tour along with some photos of Greenwich.
When we arrived we were given a goody bag with headphones, pen, puzzle, oyster holder, and pin (see photo below). The DLR staff were friendly including Doris the DLR character! Along with a audio set to listen to the tour guide on, though I was sceptical about this at first due to initial technical difficulties it was really helpful when walking around Greenwich as I could always hear the tour guide.
We were put on our own DLR which didn’t stop along the tour (much to the disappointment to those waiting to get on the DLR!). The first part of the tour focused on the history docklands going through Shadwell, Limehouse, Canary Wharf and ending at Greenwich. The tour then continued on foot.
The tour of Greenwich was fascinating, focusing on the buildings which looked amazing in the glorious sunshine! Greenwich has always been one of my favourite parts of London as it’s like a small town with beautiful architecture, a history focusing on astrology, a food and craft markets and plenty of green open space. A great place to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of London life.
