Today I decided to go to Pret a Manger, like a true Londoner! This Pret (see speaking like a true Londoner!) is next door to Twining’s beautiful shop (a heaven for any tea lover) and across the road from the Magnificent Courts of Justice.
This Pret blends into its historic surroundings which I have tried to capture in my photos below. The inside of the building is surprisingly spacious, yet cosy with comfy chairs and simple decor. I also had a stunning view of the Courts of Justice from my window seat.
I had the Roast Beets, Squash and Feta Veggie box, which also had rice and quinoa which made it delicious and filling. For my sweet treat, I had a popcorn bar which is basically popcorn mixed with white chocolate and caramel but tastes scrummy! To drink to perk myself for the afternoon I had a Soya Mocha which had the perfect mix of coffee and chocolate.
After my lunch, I decided to walk around and explore the local area. Here is what I discovered.
Royal Courts of Justice.
I walk past this building most days but have never taken the time before to admire the beautiful and detailed architecture!
Temple Bar Monument (Dragon)
I have always wanted to explore the church and statues below that sit between Fleet Street and the Strand, so today I did! It fascinating how you can walk past something most days but don’t really see it.
Statue of Lord Dowding
Bomber Harris Memorial
St Clements Danes
Hope you enjoyed the photos in the blog post and encouraged you to explore your local area.
What is your favourite food to eat at Pret? What would you recommend seeing in Central London?
