January 2019 Favourites

Hello and Welcome Back! Can you believe the end of January is already fast approaching? If the rest of the year is going to go as quickly it will be Christmas again before we know it! Anyway, today I am going to share with you my January Favourites. I have a mixed bag this month with some technology, make up, skincare and more! So I hope you enjoy!

With the January Blues and cold weather I have found myself having more pamper evenings and taking better care of my skin. Here are a few products that have really stood out to me this month.

Lo’real Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask

This mask is £7.99 but I think I got it on offer for a fiver. A little goes along way with this mask. I put this one on whilst I am in the bath and leave it for about 15-20 minutes. When I wash it off my skin feels cleansed without feeling dry and my looks glowing. My skin will glow for a few days after, even my partner noticed!

Olay Total Effect 7 in One Featherweight Moisturiser

This moituriser is £15 but again is often on offer so keep an eye out. I was drawn to this moisturiser as it said it was feather light. My skin has been breaking out recently so I wanted a light moisturiser that doesn’t clog up my pores. That was exactly what I got, this moisturiser sinks in quickly and my breakouts have dramatically reduced. It also also helped to reduce the scaring left from previous spots. On a side note I also love that it comes in a pump. I might be alone in this but moisturisers in a tub really freak me out. The only thing I can relate it to is when someone double dips in a sharing dip at a party. All the germs! Just me? Ok lets move on then!

Burts Bees Lip Balm

This one is vitamin E and Peppermint which I love as it tingles on your lips! But to be honest there isn’t a Burt’s Bees Lip balm flavour I don’t like. It is an affordable 100% Natural Lip balm at just £3.99 each. Burt’s Bees lip balm leaves my lifts feeling soft and nourished. It also coats my lips helping to prevent them from the cold.

Lush Sleepy Shower Gel

My Auntie brought this for me as a Christmas present and I had never tried it before. I instantly loved the smell. As you would expect is smelt of lavender but thanks to the tonka it doesn’t smell overwhelming. Sometimes I find lavender a bit strong! I use this in the evening and the smell does help me to relax. It is blue on your skin but don’t worry it washes off! You don’t end up looking like a smurf!

Daisy by Marc Jacobs

I have had my eye on this fragrance for a while now and this month my partner treated my to the gift set (which came with a shower gel and body lotion). It is difficult to describe the scent but I would describe it as fresh floral. Floral can often smell musky but as this has a slight sweetness to it.

L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Multi-Use Balm

Those of you who have followed my blog for a while would have seen me mention this in my Low Maintenance Girl: Hair Care Routine. I have tried lots of different hair masks but I always come back to this one. At £5.09 (what an odd price!) it is affordable and leaves my hair feeling silky soft and nourished without weighing it down.

No 7 The Full 360 Mascara

This mascara is No7 latest mascara. I brought it on offer when it was two for £15 (normally £14 each!) so I brought one in black and the other in black/brown. I have been wearing the black/brown mascara and loving it. It provides volume, length and definition. You can build up the mascara for an false lash effect or one coat for a subtle natural look. The brown/black mascara is much more subtle so perfect for everyday wear.

Max & More Mascara with Argan Oil

Those of you who saw my recent Poundland Haul will know that I brought this mascara for just £1. I love it, it provides volume and length without clumping your eyelashes. One of my work colleagues actually prefers how this looks compared to the No7 mascara.

52 Lists for Happiness by Moorea Seal

I brought as I thought it would fit well with my New Years Resolution (which is to write down everyday what I am grateful for). I have completed three lists so far and have found each one thought provoking. As it is only once a week it is easy to stick too. After each list there is a short activity to help you reflect on your list.

Fitbit Versa

My partner brought this for Christmas. I previously used the Fitbit Blaze. I have to say I love Versa so much more. For Starters its Rose Gold and Pink! If that is not enough it tracks your steps, heart rate and you can control your messages through it. It also fits so much better than the Blaze.

Hat from TU by Sainsburys

I brought this hat when we went to the Isle of Wight (see full blog post here) as it was freezing. To be honest I brought this hat as it was the only one that fit my surprising large head! Now with hats I don’t normally wear them for long as they normally itch my head. However this one doesn’t and I love wearing it especially as it gets colder.

The Story of Us by Helen Warner

As those of you who saw my Amazon Wish List would know I have had my eye on this book for a while! I finally got the chance to read it and I was not disappointed. It was a gripping, emotional roller coaster. That is all I will tell you for now as I plan to do a full book review soon. So keep your eyes peeled and subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss out!

So there you go there are my January Favourites. As I said a mixed bag! What have you been loving this month? Be sure to let me know in the comments below.
